Injection Molding Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate a team of operators and technicians to maximize output of the department
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure adherence to governing procedures
  • Coordinate with planning to create schedules that provide efficient change-overs
  • Review Device History Records (DHR’s) for completion, accuracy and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Interface with warehouse personnel to ensure readiness for upcoming work orders
  • Provide feedback to the Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering teams to give clear instructions to the molding team related to workflow, part handling, defect recognition, etc.
  • With input from the Director of Molding, provide performance reviews that help identify strengths and assist in areas that need improvement
  • Review and understand metrics for the Molding Department. Identify areas that will make a positive impact on scrap, on-time delivery and labor utilization.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma required

· Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an ISO 13485 manufacturing environment

· Preferred 5 years prior experience in injection molding

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports

· Computer literate able to work with MS excel, word, project and other related work applications as required.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of varying weather conditions, trash, waste, chemicals and other materials. The noise level in the work environment and facility grounds can be loud.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40lbs; pull/push up to 60 lbs, grasp small device/ products and identify very small variations in the product. Sight is required for observing work and production. May spend several hours using a computer to create reports, analyze data and respond to inquiries and issues. May be exposed to active machinery and moving equipment, dust. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.72 - $36.99 per hour
