Frederic (Fred) T. Boyer joined ECA Medical Instruments as Chief Financial Officer in November 2016. Fred leads the Finance and Accounting, Human Resources and Information Technology functions at ECA. He has over 30 years’ experience as a Chief Financial Officer in privately held and publicly-traded middle market companies in high growth and turnaround situations. Fred has diversified industry experience in manufacturing, business services, high technology, entertainment, telecommunications, software, consumer products, publishing, data and digital storage, power electronics, networking and fiber optics.
As a CFO he has led Finance and Accounting organizations and other functions such as Human Resources, Contracts and Legal, Information Technology, Facilities, Investor Relations, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Control and Operations. Fred has successfully raised more than $200 million through three IPO’s and secondary public offerings in addition to venture capital, private equity, bank, and strategic partner and lease financings.
Prior to joining ECA, he consulted as an interim CFO working with a solar company and managed a service provider and a services company to the post-secondary education market. Earlier in his career he served in a variety of firms including as Senior Vice President and CFO of Condusiv Technologies Corporation, an enterprise software company; CFO of Data Direct Networks, a manufacturer and marketer of high capacity digital storage system; Senior Vice President and CFO of Optical Communication Products, Inc., a publicly traded manufacturer and marketer of fiber optics components for the telecommunications market; Vice President and CFO of Qualstar Corporation, a publicly traded NASDAQ company manufacturing and marketing storage equipment; CFO of Accelerated Networks, a start-up telecommunications equipment company he led through a highly successful IPO; and CFO of Fibermux Corporation, a manufacturer and marketer of data communications equipment that was sold to ADC Telecommunications. Fred has also held financial management and leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies including CBS, Raytheon Company and Beatrice Foods.
Fred has an MBA from Loyola Marymount University, a BS in Accounting from California State University, Los Angeles and a BS in Economics from California State University, Pomona.
